Lenten Soup Suppers
Tuesday | March 11, 2014 | 13:25 PM
We have a full slate of speakers for our Lenten Soup Suppers focusing on hunger.
Thursday, March 13 at St. Vincent de Paul: David Palma, deacon and pastoral administrator at St. Mary's in downtown Rochester. Deacon David is the former pastoral administrator of the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini cluster in Rochester. Prior to that he was our diocese's director of deacon personnel.
Thursday, March 20 at St. Mary of the Assumption: Brigit Hurley, policy analyst for The Children's Agenda in Rochester. Prior to her current position, Brigit worked for the Catholic Family Center and edited its newsletter, Salt & Light. Brigit is the inspiration behind many of the petition drives we've conducted along with parishes throughout the diocese.
Thursday, April 10 at St. Columba/St. Patrick: Mark Robbins, deacon and Catholic Relief Services global speaker. Deacon Mark has traveled to Haiti with CRS, and Haiti is one of the Lent 2014 CRS Rice Bowl focus countries.
Each evening will begin at 6pm with a simple soup supper, followed by prayer and the talk. Free will donation will go to help end hunger.
